prpl Foundation to Showcase Innovative Home Gateway Solutions at Mobile World Congress 2025

Barcelona, March 1st, 2025

The prpl Foundation, the open-source organization dedicated to transforming the software architecture of home gateways, is excited to announce its presence at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, taking place from March 3rd to March 6th 2025 in Barcelona, Spain. This year, The prpl Foundation will highlight its innovative platform and the collaborative efforts of its members in advancing home connectivity and home services solutions.

Among the prominent members showcasing their advancements is Bitdefender who will demo in the Executive Meeting Room No. 7B22Ex, Hall 7, the seamless deployment, execution, and capabilities of the Bitdefender IoT Security Agent on a Router running prplOS. This integration, just like Bitdefender’s work on new capabilities that allow a more efficient functioning of security containers within prpl (fast path PacketInterception API, VPN management, DNS flow management, etc.) exemplifies the potential of prpl’s open-source framework to enhance edge computing capabilities for home gateways and security for end-users.

SoftAtHome

An early member of the prpl Foundation, will showcase its deployment with Orange Jordan, the first of its kind using prpl. Demonstrations at Booth 5.i59, Hall 5 will further highlight how a home gateway prpl-based Application Store ushers in a new world of operator and third-party services.

WNC

WNC has been involved with the Foundation since 2019, has built two supporting reference platforms, and is working closely with Tier 1 service providers in launching prplOS. Additionally, WNC will be demonstrating, at its booth Hall 2 Stand 2F2, a consumer level gateway running prplOS with a number of value-added services. These value-added services will showcase how prplOS can help enhance subscriber QoE.

Qualcomm Technologies

We are excited to showcase our latest advancements in smart home gateways at Booth #3E10, Hall 3 during MWC 2025, and we look forward to collaborating with industry leaders and partners to drive this ransformative change.”

Arcadyan

Arcadyan, a prpl member, is showcasing Arcadyan’s prpl Excellence across Wi-Fi 7, 5G FWA and Broadband solutions at Mobile World Congress, Hall 2.1, Stand 2.1C37Ex.

MaxLinear

As a leading member of the prpl Foundation, MaxLinea has supported the advancement of prpl from initial concept to a comprehensive, feature-rich open software distribution that serves the needs of broadband service providers,” said Puneet Sethi, Vice President of Network Infrastructure and Carrier Business at MaxLinear. “Our continued commitment to open standards and prpl Foundation is matched by our investment to accelerate prpl development through MaxLinear Fast-Track platform for continuous integration. We also adopted prpl in our software deliverables, significantly reducing time to market for our service provider partners. We will host meetings with our industry partners at MWC (Hall 2 – 2L8MR and 2L10MR).
