prplWare: The prplFoundation Complete Suite

prplWare

The prplFoundation Complete Suite

prplWare is a comprehensive open-source suite developed by the prpl Foundation. It consists of five key components:

  • prpl High Level API: Standardizes communication with the Operator networking device.
  • prplOS: An operating system based on OpenWRT, specifically designed for embedded networking devices.
  • prplMesh: An open-source Wi-Fi mesh network implementation, enabling carrier-grade management for both local and cloud-based Wi-Fi applications.
  • prplLCM: A platform-independent, open-source embedded component that allows Operators to securely manage the individual life cycles of containerized software components.
  • prpl Low Level API: Standardizes access to the lower levels of components, including SoC vendor BSP and Linux-based OS.

prplLCM

Streamlined Software Lifecycle Control

prpl Life-Cycle Management (LCM) is a platform-independent solution that enables Service Providers to securely manage the individual life cycles of containerized software components (e.g., Download, Install, Launch, Pause, Update, Restart, Uninstall).  Orchestration of apps and microservices can be managed from the cloud via industry-standardized tools such as Broadband Forum USP and the TR-181 Device:2 Data Model.  The LCM working group collaborates with the Broadband Forum and RDK communities.
